Communications Interface Adapters Bridge Incompatible Equipment

These communications interface adapters and media converters provide a flexible, cost-effective way to integrate diverse equipment into your network.

TBOS-ASCII Converter 400-Type

TBOS-ASCII Converter 400-Type

TAC's work in pairs to transport TBOS and ASCII data on a common channel, reducing circuit requirements. A "Slave-End" TAC in a stand-alone package combines the TBOS and ASCII. A "Master-End" TAC splits the TBOS and ASCII data to two ports for distribution to a TBOS alarm system and an ASCII terminal.

APC 36 Alarm Point Conditioner

APC 36 Alarm Point Conditioner

The APC 36 Alarm Point Conditioner converts 36 alarm points to common-referenced (ground) contact closures. It is ideally suited for interfacing CMOS, TTL and bi-polar points to alarm remotes with common ground inputs.

TBOS-ASCII Combiner

TBOS-ASCII Combiner (TAC)

TBOS-ASCII Combiner (TAC) increases network efficiency by combining TBOS alarm data and ASCII maintenance data on a single channel. You can put it to work on your network to support switches, PABXs, MUXs, fiber terminals, radios and other devices that use an ASCII "Craft Port" for maintenance and a TBOS serial port for alarms.

Alternate Path Switch

The Alternate Path Switch (APS) is an interface adapter that provides an automatic backup dial-up connection to any remote. The APS connects your T/MonXM to any serial remote, providing a primary serial connection. If the primary connection fails, the dial-up connection immediately comes on line for uninterrupted polling.

The APS RS-232 mediates between a common RS-232 channel and a primary RS-232 channel an a secondary 212 dial-up channel.

The APS FSK mediates between a common FSK channel and a primary RS-232 channel and a secondary 212 dial-up channel.

    232-485B Polling Interface

    The 232-485B Polling Interface interfaces a two-wire RS-232 data port to a switched-carrier RS-485B data port.

    RS-232 to FSK Converter

The RS-232 to FSK Converter interfaces an RS-232 data port to a frequency shift keyed (FSK) modem network in the 4 to 8 kHz frequency band. While the RS-232 to FSK Converter can be used for any general application that requires data conversion to FSK, it is specifically intended for T/MonXM to access alarm data via an FSK network.

    8 Channel ASCII MUX

The 8-Channel ASCII MUX allows you to connect up to eight ASCII data sources to one ASCII port on a T/MonXM master. The master controls the MUX to route data to the appropriate port. Each channel has a 16K buffer that allows data to be moved between ports at different data rates. In addition to switching between multiple ports, the 8 Channel ASCII MUX will select a preset data rate for each port. Available data rates are 300, 1200, 2400 and 9600 Baud

  • ASCII MUX, 8-channel, wire-wrap, -24vdc PC-180-10A-02
  • ASCII MUX, 8-channel, wire-wrap, -48vdc PC-180-10A-04
  • ASCII MUX, 8-channel, DB-9, -24vdc PC-180-10A-12
  • ASCII MUX, 8-channel, DB-9, -48vdc PC-180-10A-14

    TL1 MUX-8

The TL1 MUX is a specialized data multiplexer for combining up to 8 data lines using BellcoreTM Transaction Language 1 (TL1) onto a single TL1 line. By observing the delineating semicolon at the end of each TL1 data packet, the processor in the TL1 MUX-8 is able to store and stack incoming data. The TL1 packets are then sent to the common port in the order received and transmitted to the interrogator one-at-a-time.

  • Connectorized, RS232 common port, 1200 Baud 202 Modem on ports 1-8. D-PC-182-10A-1V
  • Connectorized, RS232 common port, RS232 on ports 1-8. D-PC-182-10A-2V

    8 Port Serial Switch

The 8 Port Serial Switch (SPS8) allows you to connect up to eight data sources to one port on a collection device , such as the NetDog 82IP. Commands from an interrogating ASCII terminal control the switch to route data to the appropriate port. Each channel has a 16K buffer that allows data to be moved between ports at different data rates. In addition to switching between multiple ports, the 8 Port Serial Switch will select a preset data rate for each port. Available data rates are 300, 1200, 2400 and 9600 Baud.

    FSK Converter

The DPS Telecom FSK Converter interfaces an RS-232 data port to a Frequency Shift Keyed (FSK) modem network. The modem operates at 1200 baud with a center frequency of 1877 Hz.

The FSK Converter with Firmware Version 1.0B is designed to support only one application: mediating alarm data between the IAM-5 or T/MonXM WorkStation and the Larse LarScan Series 1200 or Badger 1200 remote telemetry unit. Each FSK Converter mediates a polling leg of up to 253 Larse/Badger remotes.

Note: This device provides a hardware interface to your Larse/Badger network. To poll the network with an IAM-5 or T/MonXM WorkStation, the Larse Interrogator software module (Part number D-SW-LARSE-12001) must be installed on your T/MonXM system.
